Unshaded Character Reference Sheet

There are two options:
#1 - A reference sheet for an already existing character design (all the work I would be doing is drawing the character that the client provides and compiling a reference sheet for them)
OR
#2 - A character designed completely from scratch + a reference sheet (I will design the character with ideas and references the client provides, as well as making a reference sheet for this new design)
Additional details will incur additional fees. (Open for negotiation)

COMMISSION TYPES

Personal commission: work used for/in PFPs, banners, icons, graphics, wallpapers, emotes, non-profit gifts, edits or non-monetized videos, personal decor, reference material to be used in another commission, etc.Commercial commission: work used for purposes in which money or profit will be earned by the client, such as sponsored/monetized YouTube videos, livestreams, merch, etc.Contract/for-hire commission: repeated and sustained enlisting of my services as decided by a contract negotiated between the client and I. Considered the same as a commercial commission, even if the client will only be using the work for personal purposes. Differs from the client simply being a regular buyer of personal or commercial commissions, though if enough commercial commissions are ordered, I may reach out to the client to see if the client is interested in establishing a commercial contract. Each and every use of my services in a contract/for-hire commission must adhere to these Terms of Service and must be paid for in full. No exceptions.

usage and ownership rights

ALL client use of the work in which the work is shared with others MUST contain proper credit to "Keiiyazel" (i.e., mention and tag me or provide a direct URL to at least one of my socials or my website, provided in the hyperlink).I, the artist:
retain ALL rights to the commissioned work at ALL times.
have the right to refuse any request that I am uncomfortable with or do not have the adequate skills for.
have the right to post works in progress (WIPs) of the work and the finished work on my social media and use it as sample work at my own discretion. If the client does not want me to do this, they must let me know.
must have full say in the negotiation of a contract, and must be told upfront exactly what the client’s terms, plans, budget, and wants are during the negotiation process. (For contract/for-hire commissions)
The client may:
use only the finished commission for personal purposes (applies to all commission types). These purposes are the same as the uses allowed for personal commissions, listed above. Use for wallpapers, unless shared online that the client is using my work as a wallpaper, does not require credit; every other instance in which the work is shared with others must provide proper credit.
post only the finished commission on the client’s social media with proper credit.
ask me to take inspiration from or trace over real photographs that are available for Creative Commons or Public Domain use.
If the client wishes to post the commissioned work online and the commission contains anything that may possibly trigger or otherwise cause discomfort for viewers (e.g. blood/gore, weapons, horror elements, bright colors, etc.), the client must add a content warning that is clearly visible and appropriate. The client may NOT:
use the work in any of its stages for NFTs or AI training.
claim the work in any of its stages as the client’s own.
physically or electronically sell or distribute the work in any of its stages for profit or monetary gain without my explicit consent.
crop out or cover up my watermark, signature, or other details that identify the work as mine.
ask me to copy, trace over, or take heavy inspiration from art that is copyrighted or not the client’s own.
use or publicly post the work in its WIP stages.
For a sketch/lineart commission (no color), the client is free to use the work for coloring practice; my only condition is that the client may not post it anywhere public.

respect and communication

I am a full-time student. I have my own life and my own personal boundaries. Respect for my work and I are non-negotiable. Should the client break any of these terms or make me feel unsafe, uncomfortable, and/or disrespected in any way, I will block and report the client, blacklist them, and publicly warn other artists.I will not make any exceptions for anyone. Whether the client is a close friend or a complete stranger is irrelevant—the client may not ask for any personal discounts or for me to draw anything I have clearly stated I will not draw.I will answer commission requests/other related queries via, in order of preference:
Discord DMs @keiiiyazel
Instagram DMs @keiiyazel
email at [email protected]
Twitter/X DMs @Keiiyazel
Tumblr DMs @keiiyazel
Cara DMs @keiiyazel
Hyperlinks are provided for ease of access. Note that my Discord username includes three (3) i’s—two (2) i’s links to an old account that is no longer in use, and requests or inquiries will not be answered by that account.
The client must communicate and maintain transparency with me. I strive to create the most satisfactory final products for my clients, but I can only do so if they are clear, reasonable, and specific with their wants. I may ask clarifying questions to understand better, so please answer them with as much clarity as possible.

process and payment

I will generally work within a four (4)-week time frame, though I will shorten or extend this time if needed. If I am unable to complete a commission within four (4) weeks for whatever reason, I will notify the client—from there, either an extension may be negotiated, or I may offer the client a partial refund (see below for my policy on refunds).
As listed in the "Additional Pricing" section of my Prices page, I am willing to work with deadlines; however, the commission must be ordered at least two (2) weeks prior to the set deadline. Orders with deadlines will be considered "priority" and require an additional +50% fee.
If the client does not have a deadline in mind, the client's order will go straight to my waitlist queue. My waitlist is first come, first serve and usually has a total of three (3) slots. Joining my waitlist requires no initial payment until the client's order reaches the top of the queue, at which point I will contact the client and calculate their price. If no other slots are taken when the client places their order, I will contact the client for initial payment immediately and begin work on the client's order as soon as that payment goes through. Please contact me ASAP if you wish to be removed from my waitlist. The client must be specific when requesting a commission. Specify the cropping (headshot, half-body etc) and the render (sketch, fully rendered etc). Provide some kind of reference material for the character, their personality, and/or the background—this applies to both OCs and fanart. The more specific, the better.
Picrews and other character creation websites/apps are acceptable as long as the creator allows for use for commission references (please check). Written descriptions of appearance are helpful, but they must be accompanied with visual references. I will not accept AI generated images or AI generated text as reference material.
For convenience, an optional but encouraged commission order form is provided at the top of this page.
Once the client’s order has been confirmed, I will calculate the order’s total price. I require 50% payment upfront, and I will not begin working until this amount has been paid. Any additional fees will be paid when they come up (see below). The remaining 50% payment will be paid once the commission is finished, unless I am unable to finish the commission—in that case, see below for my policy on refunds. Payment via Cashapp (preferred), Venmo, or PayPal only.
I do not accept cryptocurrency, "work experience," or “exposure” as a form of payment.
Any delays in payment must be communicated immediately and transparently with me.
I will only offer PayPal if neither Cashapp nor Venmo are available to the client. Payments via PayPal will incur a +5% additional fee to account for transaction fees.
Tips are entirely optional but welcome.
I operate on a zero refund policy once initial payment has been made.
The only exception to this is if I am unable or no longer motivated to finish a commission; in this case, I will send the client the work that I have done and the approximate cost that the work would amount to as a refund.
Once I begin working, I will engage in frequent private discussions with the client until the commission is complete or until I cannot finish the commission. I will send the client updates as I finish each phase of the process, and the client may request changes to the work if they wish to.
Generally, my process for a full render piece looks like this:
     1) Rough sketch
     2) Clean sketch/lineart
     3) Base coloring
     4) Base shading
     5) Rendering
     6) Final touches
Depending on the commission’s render, later phases may be skipped.
I will not do any major revisions (pose or large-scale appearance changes) after the clean sketch/lineart is finished. (For example, I will not grant a request to make a character with long straight hair have voluminous curly hair instead.)
After the base shading has been added, a maximum of two (2) free edits may be made; after this point, any extra modifications require an additional fee. These fees will be calculated and must be paid as they come up.
If the client does not like something, they must speak up as soon as possible. If the client intentionally withholds feedback and waits until I present the final product to ask me to change something, I will not grant the request.
Commission progress may be viewed publicly at any time on my Trello, linked at the top of this page.
Once the order has been completed, I will send the client a watermarked .jpg or .jpeg image of the finished commission. This is where I require the remaining 50% payment—after this is paid, the client will receive a Google Drive folder containing an unwatermarked .png image of the commission, a watermarked .png image of the commission, and the same watermarked .jpg or .jpeg image of the commission provided previously, as well as any other necessary versions of the commission. All public usage of the commission must only include the watermarked images.
